Then you should plan some shelves. Prefer shirts or blouses? In that case, hanging rods are essential. To know how many metres of hanging rod you need, consider how many of your garments will be hung on hangers. Here are some general guidelines on how much clothing typically fits on one metre of hanging rod:

• 30 shirts or blouses
• 25 trousers or skirts
• 15 winter jackets or 20 summer jackets

To determine the height of your hanging rod for your new custom wardrobe, you can use some good reference points. Be sure to measure your longest coat or dress with a tape measure.

Optimal Height for a Hanging Rod:

• For long coats and evening dresses: 1.80 to 2.00 metres
• For short coats and summer dresses: 1.40 to 1.50 metres
• For jackets and shirts: 1.00 to 1.10 metres
• For blazers and skirts: 0.80 to 0.90 metres
